Unexpected Improvement

After wearing these hearing aids a few weeks, my natural hearing is improving. I don't have any objective evidence to prove it, but I hear people better than I did four weeks ago. Not only is intelligibility improving, but I can hear sounds with higher pitch.

My guess is that my brain is relearning what it has slowly abandoned. Eventually, I will have a new audiogram made and then we can see if this is a dream. Until then, I enjoying the improvement.

The Small Sounds Are Back

This completes a full week with hearing aids. Now I hear the birds sing and the small sounds that I had forgotten. The aids don't make things louder, but improve sounds so I can once again understand what ladies are saying.

There was no "getting used" to wearing them. One forgets that they are in place after just a few minutes. They adjust for crowds, wind and loud noises. Now I'm back in full force.
